About: Senior UX / Product Designer

As the Senior UX/Product Designer, reporting to the SVP of Product, you will play a critical role in defining and designing an outstanding user experience that enables small business owners to quickly and easily buy insurance online.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to design eCommerce products and enhancements that drive customer engagement and conversion, provide a superior customer experience, and empower our internal operations teams to be as successful and efficient as possible.

Responsibilities:

• Own the design process end-to-end for new features and iterations

• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and project stakeholders to define and implement product design concepts that deliver an exceptional user experience

• Own the existing design systems and standards, and contribute to their growth across all online assets

• Turn concepts into user workflows, customer journey maps, wireframes, and interactive prototypes

• Develop and conduct user research studies – both moderated and unmoderated – including usability tests, user interviews, and usage data/analytics

• Analyze and present UX research findings and recommendations to stakeholders

• Evangelize the best UI practices to product managers, engineers, and stakeholders

• Advocate for both internal and external users

Experience and Education:

• 6+ years of UX / product design experience at consumer-focused companies for mobile and desktop experiences, or relevant experience

• A portfolio of product design work on which you were the primary designer

• Solid understanding of UI/UX philosophies, design thinking and processes

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills to effectively communicate design approach and influence business stakeholders

• Proven success developing interactive prototypes to help communicate ideas to stakeholders

• Adept at using quantitative and qualitative research to make intelligent and informed design and UX decisions

• Experience in Agile product development

• Understanding of accessible design principles and guidelines, e.g., WCAG

• Experience with responsive web design and cross browser/cross platform development

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• Experience with standard UX/design software such as Sketch, Figma, InVision, etc.

• Previous experience designing for e-commerce, insurtech, or fintech a plus

• Familiarity with front end development technologies (HTML/CSS) a plus
