    Position Summary

    Partners with our Product Experience leaders to uncover the needs and goals of our end users through conducting generative and evaluative research, as well as creative problem-solving activities. Manages a team of User Researchers and drives user research initiatives. Has a deep understanding of the customer and our end users. Employs leading-edge research methods to evolve our ways of working. Partners with Product Design, Product Management, Engineering and Data Scientists to recommend research and identify patterns that will help product teams shape the product vision.     Essential Job Functions

  • Leads research studies, partnering with stakeholders and product team members to provide research that contributes to the experience strategy and vision
  • Serves as the advocate for users, including those with disabilities and accessibility needs
  • Leads affinity map and other working sessions to invest stakeholders and team members in the research, as well as inspire divergent thinking,identify problems to solve
  • Helps transform representations of our users into impactful design artifacts, such as personas, journey maps, user flows, service blueprints, that identify problems to solve through design
  • Reviews, analyzes and communicates data to generate tactical and strategic insights, as well as actionable recommendations which enhance our products. Highlights patterns across multiple research studies to help enhance the customer experience across channels and touch points
  • Thinks broadly through ideation by planning and facilitating brainstorming and design-thinking activities with multi-disciplinary teams and creates artifacts to demonstrate divergent thinking
  • Evaluate designs: Reviews existing solutions to ensure they meet heuristic best practices and makes recommendations for improvements
  • Demonstrates excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills. Representing your team's recommendations and solutions to business stakeholders
  • Actively leads Research Ops initiatives, in order to build best practices and ways of working to enable agile, quality research across our product teams
  • Embraces Agile environment and act as an advocate for end users, providing strategic leadership based in user-centered design, user research, customer analytics, and business goals
  • Travel to local stores and campuses and to attend company meetings
  • Supervises, coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; completes performance reviews and provides feedback

  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Human Factors or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 6+ years of experience in B2B or B2C environments, implementing loyalty, automation, personalization and/or e-commerce strategies
  • Any experience managing other user experience professionals
  • Any experience with accessibility best practices and testing
  • Exceptional communication, and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated track record of collaborating effectively with cross functional, diverse teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex research studies
  • Previous experience to define, develop and activate Research Ops
  • Working knowledge of design tools, such as Sketch, Invision, Adobe CS
  • Strong understanding of analytics, target measurement, and online/offline channel engagement attribution models
  • Highly analytical aptitude and proficient using data analysis
