Senior SAP Business Analyst - Supply Chain

Job Summary

The Sr. Business Analyst P2P and Inventory/Warehouse Mgmt. will lead the application support, small enhancements and application integration within the process area of purchase-to-pay (P2P) and inventory/warehouse management (IMWM) with a deep focus on operational support across multiple products/applications. This position is located in Gaithersburg, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Key member of the Application support team responsible for upholding the functional design, configuration, and validation of SAP solution supporting Inventory and Purchase processes.
  • Serves as process lead role for Logistics Execution module covering both inbound and outbound logistics
  • Serves as lead role for SAP warehouse Management module related to all warehouse processes and related master data covering:
  • Master data related to the identified processes
  • Inter/intra-company STO
  • Warehouse management (Storage Bin, goods movement, RF)
  • Logistics execution: Goods receipts Physical inventory
  • Procurement process
  • Use every opportunity to bring systems improvements to enhance/optimize the operations
  • Provide advice in areas of SAP warehouse management and its integration to sales and procurement processes
  • Co-ordinates and supports in defining MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales and Distribution) and QM (Quality Management) module subsequent processes (like outbound, inbound, Quality process)
  • Proactively supports the business processes with issue identification, resolution and process optimization
  • Proactively analyze the evolving SAP capabilities to meet the business requirements and work with key users to implement the process in the organization
  • Publish Root Cause analysis
  • Detects and escalates necessary process decisions in the project regular meeting
  • Coordinates all testing activities and contributes to test plan creation with respect to bug/defect fixes and small enhancements
  • Support the key user community with user mentoring, process documentation, and end user training using tools
  • Ensure appropriate support and documentation is followed
  • Facilitate the issue resolution process by tracking the status of issues in process
  • Demonstrate effective team skills with strong oral and written communications and deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to utilize SAP master data better, leading cross-functional efforts on behalf of procurement & warehouse organization.
  • Support business users in delivery of end user training & coordinates all training activities according to training concept and plan
  • Provide overall maintenance and support through lifecycle management.

Business Analysis and Testing (to cover small enhancements & defects/bug-fixes)

  • Oversee functional & technical design specifications, influence test plans and conduct/coordinate testing to comply with change control processes.
  • Identify and documents system deficiencies and recommends solutions.
  • Ensure that all tests are conducted and documented according IT standards
  • Responsible for ensuring that all documentation accurately reflects the current status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect application features and functions.
  • Ensure that all items follow the change management process and are entered and tracked through the change management process.
  • Work with appropriate personnel to ensure the appropriate level of testing for new functionality or change requests.
  • Ensure continuing operational quality by documenting bug fixes and enhancements, testing and releasing updates.

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university is required.
  • Minimum 8 – 10+ years expert-level knowledge of SAP module configuration experience in the following specific SAP module areas: MM – Material Management, IM/WM – Inventory & Warehouse management, MRP – Material Replenishment Planning, batch determination and management, workflow, inventory and materials management
  • Hands-on & current SAP configuration experience
  • Functional/technical proficiency with at least 4+ Full Life Cycle large project implementations of P2P- Procure to Payment (MM) module and delivery in a validated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment leveraging ECC 6.0 capabilities and best practices
  • Direct SAP experience designing and implementing SAP MM (Materials Management) and LE (Logistics Execution) solutions
  • Experience defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines
  • Provide expert level of application support, specifically in the area of SAP Warehouse Management (Inventory
  • Full Lifecycle SAP Implementations with expertise in MM/IM/WM
  • Experience working on integrations and interfaces with other SAP and non-SAP applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, users, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong analytical skills required, proficiency in using Computerized System Validation (CSV) and other Quality Assurance/Compliance regulations typical for the Life Sciences industry
  • Highly effective communication (written, spoken) & presentation skills
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfortable working in a team environment
