The Sr. Project Manager drives execution of a portfolio of R&D projects through all phases of the product development process. This is an opportunity to work closely with the R&D team and other cross-functional partners to establish best in class PM processes that improve communication, reduce costs, increase efficiencies and speed time to market. The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for end to end management of multiple concurrent projects, including project scoping and planning, key stakeholder signoff, risk assessment and mitigation, and reporting. This role reports into the PMO and has a direct impact on the introduction of new products and ensuring the success of Magnolia’s commercialized product portfolio.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages a portfolio of projects through all phases of the product development process, including initiating, assembling project teams, developing project plans, and managing project execution to ensure completion of projects on time and within budget.
  • Manages, tracks and communicates project status and progress to plan for all assigned new product introductions (NPI), continuous improvement, and remediation projects.
  • Drives the completion of technical and business phase review presentations and deliverables.
  • Ensures cross-functional resources are assigned and held accountable for timely task completion.
  • Leads the development and tracking of the project budget, including resource allocations, supply chain, internal and supplier validations, capital equipment, facility and general expenses.
  • Builds schedules and ensures that project milestones are delivered on time and meet established goals and objectives.
  • Manages quality system documentation and revision to ensure compliance.
  • Leads weekly project meetings and ensures transparent, timely communication across the project team.
  • Actively anticipates risks and plans for mitigation. Participates in problem solving and triages solutions as issues arise.
  • Identifies and executes on continual improvements to project management processes. Champions project management methodology and best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Five to seven years of project management (PM) experience, including a minimum of two to three years of project management in the medical device industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and PMP certification
  • Experience partnering with Quality and Regulatory team to ensure compliance
  • Skilled in building project plans and timelines that anticipate risks and balance those with the need to speed to market.
  • Able to anticipate risks and issues and create effective mitigation plans. Strong problem solving and triage skills when project roadblocks occur.
  • Experience with best in class PM processes and passionate about building and working in a process-driven environment.
  • Enjoys educating Engineering and other cross-functional teams on project management tools and methodologies, as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to hold project team members accountable while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Engineering background is preferred but not required.
