We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.Description: Within Emory University’s Library and Information Technology Services (LITS) organization, the Integration Development Senior Manager leads a team of skilled integration developers driven to support and advance Emory University’s mission. Working with the Director of Application Development and API Services, peer development managers, and direct reports, the integration manager provides leadership in delivering the highest quality application integrations, API Services and microservices, in establishing patterns, standards and best practices, in maturing the LITS application integration ecosystem, in building a high performing team of API Services developers, and in fostering productive relationships within LITS and our business partners. The incumbent collaborates with Emory’s world class researchers, physicians, students, and staff to help advance discoveries in health sciences and other disciplines, support the dissemination of knowledge, and improve the education of learners throughout the Emory Community.
The Application Development and API Services group that the API Services team is a part of develops and supports custom software applications for the research administration processes, investigator-led and program-wide research endeavors, and other core functions for Emory University. The team is responsible for developing and supporting the integration solutions and services for those applications as well as the breadth of integrations used across the University supporting all of its missions. Collaboration and teamwork across the various teams is critical to the success of the integration delivery efforts, LITS, Emory University and its mission.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Leads, manages and supervises Information Technology (IT) and operations in an integral IT area.
  • Has overall responsibility for a specific IT area including leading specific IT projects and implementation of new versions of software, management of systems and coordination with other IT projects across the division.
  • Is accountable for a specific product and technical environment.
  • Advises management on issues within the specific area that impact the division and enterprise-wide IT services.
  • Ensures compliance and uniform, transparent systems across the division and enterprise by working closely with other area managers and directors.
  • Implements uniform administrative procedures and systems throughout a division.
  • Hires, trains and supervises staff.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A bachelor's degree and seven years of related IT experience including demonstrated technical expertise in specific IT areas, project management skills and lead or supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Extensive experience in the implementation and production support of an enterprise system.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong experience in the application integration architecture, solution design, and development using SOA, API Services and microservices best practices and patterns.
  • Experience with OpenAPI Spec, MuleSoft and/or Red Hat Fuse and Apache Camel is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices, development methodologies (particularly Agile) & standards
  • Strong experience in the application integration architecture, solution design, and development using SOA, API Services and microservices best practices and patterns. Experience with OpenAPI Spec, MuleSoft and/or Red Hat Fuse and Apache Camel is preferred
  • Strong technical background in Java technology stack and its eco-systems including the common open source frameworks, core Java, JMS, XML, JSON, JDBC, JPA, HTTP, OAuth, SOAP, REST.
  • Experience in API development and DevOps with ability to instrument pipeline automation and CI/CD.
  • Knowledgeable about AWS-based cloud development technologies and trends
  • Demonstrate ability to coach, inspire and mentor a team of software engineers
  • Experience working on different projects simultaneously, and capable of cultivating collaboration
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills with a proven ability interacting with all levels of management, stakeholders, support personnel, and customers.
