Job Description
Join a startup that is revolutionizing Healthcare and leading the way to become the single source for Healthcare data. Health Gorilla is hiring a hands-on senior software engineer passionate about building a world-class Health Gorilla Clinical Network. You will work closely with every team at Health Gorilla, from marketing and sales to a product to research, scope, and implement new products and features on Health Gorilla Clinical Network. This role is very hands-on and requires a perfect combination of "big picture," solution-oriented mindset, and reliable software engineering skills. We are looking for someone with stable Java web application development and database background to participate in the product development. Position is open to remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Participate in all phases of Java development within the team
  • Responsible for overall project quality on any new development or enhancement
  • Facilitate design, implementation, delivery, and support across various solutions on Health Gorilla Clinical Network
  • Perform debugging, troubleshooting, modifications, and unit testing of applications and solutions.
  • Assess technical risks and come up with mitigation strategies
  • Develop new specs, documentation, participate in the development of technical procedures and user support guides

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Familiarity with Health IT protocols and standards: FHIR, HIE, HL7, CCDA
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Core Java, Java Servlet API, caching, and messaging technologies
  • Database background is required; MongoDB experience is a plus
  • HTML/JavaScript knowledge and experience is required
  • Experience in design and development of large-scale applications
  • Familiarity with services and APIs of Health Gorilla Clinical Network
  • Keywords: Java, Java Web development, Servlet, HTML, Javascript, Web Services (SOAP, REST), MongoDB
  • Preferable experience: JMS, Elasticsearch, Redis, ActiveMQ, IHE TF, HL7, FHIR
  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail
  • Strong analytical ability, judgment, and problem analysis techniques
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
