The Department

The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst position works as part of the larger Regulatory Reporting team to ensure that reporting meets regulatory, GAAP, and Invesco guidelines.

Your Role

This role assists in financial reporting and performs accounting and finance functions. In addition, this position performs documentation of accounting procedures, collects information for annual audits, analyzes and explains work areas assigned, and assists in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assists in the preparation of financial reports in accordance with GAAP, regulatory, and Invesco policies.
  • Ensures that reporting is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provides oversight and leadership of Shared Services team and work production.
  • Provides oversight and guidance to account reconciliations team.
  • Maintains proper Sarbanes-Oxley documentation on areas of responsibility in scope for SOX audits and ensures compliance with documented controls.
  • Variance analyses for North American operations and legal entity variances for regulatory filings.
  • Review of monthly and/or quarterly filings required of regulated entities along with coordination of annual audit requests and preparation of audited financial statements.
  • Performs special analysis and tasks as required by finance department leaders.
  • Prepares supporting schedules for annual audit reports, answers questions, and works with auditors on the annual audit.
  • Responsible for review and variance compilation for board reporting.
  • Collaborate with shared service center in the preparation of regulatory and board reports.

The experience you bring:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience.
  • Must have a solid understanding of accounting and financial principles and be able to apply these principles to corporate accounting.
  • Must have knowledge of SOX requirements.
  • Oracle or other enterprise software experience preferred.
  • Ability to self-motivate and establish personal deadlines.
  • Ability to process technical accounting concepts and determine their applicability to Invesco and its business units.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage a variety of audiences, internally and externally.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with team and other key constituents.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and solve complex problems as well as deal with and manage change in a fluid environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing projects and initiatives and focus resources in line with such priorities.
  • High degree of interpersonal and collaboration skills, tact, and diplomacy with all constituencies.
  • Flexibility and openness to new challenges and opportunities.
  • Strong grasp of technology and systems. Ability to identify ways to leverage technology with a focus on automation and controls.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting.
  • CPA candidacy preferred.
