Eaton’s Aerospace Division is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. This position will be based at our Beltsville, MD facility.

At this level, incumbents perform highly complex accounting tasks providing specialized analyses in various accounting functions such as cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting. Assignments are diverse in nature and require a high level of problem-solving skill and the ability to communicate effectively across functional lines. This position has ownership of CIP and the capital request process, cost accounting and manufacturing variance analysis as well as inventory responsibility. Role will work with Accounting manager to achieve month-end deliverables and explanation and correction of variances.

In this function you will:

  • Maintain accurate standard and current cost system. This includes working with Engineering, Supply Management and Production teams to ensure bill of materials and routers are accurately set up and maintained. Own annual standard cost roll process as well as periodic updates as required.
  • Monitor, review and analyze manufacturing and budget variances. Includes the analysis of work order variance reports for proper and timely manufacturing close affecting overheads absorption. Scrap, PPV and profit margins analysis
  • Trouble shoots existing accounting systems to correct problems. Develops new procedures and process improvements to enhance financial control and reporting
  • Exerts strong controls over inventory including the preparation and /or review of balance sheet reconciliations including raw material, WIP and finished goods reconciliations plus the review and analysis of E&O with production to ensure obsolete inventory are accounted for
  • Assist in month end activities (including the rolling forecast) and financial analysis with special focus on manufacturing variances and standard margin
  • Organize and lead physical inventory
  • Assist in preparation of profit plan and department budgets
  • Maintain compliance with Eaton accounting and financial policies.
  • Own capital request process as well as reconciliation of CIP on general ledger. Work with project owners to ensure accurate and complete capital submissions
  • Participate as a member of the Beltsville finance team in driving standardized processes and procedures across the different value streams
  • Maintain SOX compliance and assist in audits as well as follow-up actions and control checks

Qualifications

Required Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution
  • Minimum two (2) years of accounting and/or finance experience
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of Beltsville, MD will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
