Maxeon Solar Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical/Equipment Engineering Manager to join a team developing plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) equipment. As a member of this small team you will contribute to the advancing of the use of PECVD technology in state-of-the-art solar cells. Looking for a manager with the knowledge, skills and confidence in electrical design to quickly turn ideas into reality and help our team provide cost-effective solutions for internal deployment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and improvement of all aspects of a machine control system from an electrical systems perspective: Input/Output (I/O) control system design, safety interlocking, AC and DC power distribution, cabling
  • Motion/heater/flow control integration, tuning and troubleshooting
  • Work with mechanical, software and process engineers to guide new requirements through design, implementation, validation and into production
  • Define and specify components and electrical hardware and subsystems • Managing outsourced designs, vendor relationships and commitments
  • Support manufacturing and field operations • Manage a small group of electrical and system engineers
Required Skills

  • Detailed knowledge of grounding, signal shielding, electrical safety, AC and DC power distribution
  • PCB/PCA design and manufacturing
  • I/O control systems and control networks such as DeviceNet, ProfiNET and EtherCAT
  • Tuning and optimization of motion control and temperature control systems including PID control
  • Programming (C/VB/etc) for prototyping, test stands, internal use
  • Experience with RF power delivery and impedance matching is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with the application of NFPA70/79 and SEMI equipment standards
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) management • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects with attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • B.S. degree in Engineering and 10+ years of related experience and 3 years of management experience
  • CAD knowledge: Altium, AutoCAD, Inventor
  • Design experience in a project environment
  • Experience with electrical systems design, Industrial servo drive / control systems, RF system design, and Ethercat communication networks • Semiconductor capital equipment experience a plus
