Job Description

Help to build a positive and informed culture within the department and how it interacts outside of Marketing. Focused on communications across the Marketing department, this role connects employees with the resources they need to do their jobs better and more efficiently, while also focusing Marketing efforts on key priorities. As a communicator outside of the Marketing department, this role also helps to align both teams and leaders with key strategies and initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Identifies compelling topics and sources/creates content for regular communications, such as monthly newsletters and All Hands meetings
  • Coordinates planning and logistics around departmental events in office and for remote employees for both professional and social purposes
  • Aids in the creation of executive communications for key leadership events and periodic updates on important topics
  • Collaborates with designated knowledge managers and content owners to maintain a centralized wiki and repository of useful documents to keep Marketers informed about key priorities, initiatives, and other important information
  • Collaborates with Human Resources, Marketing leaders, and employee committees to identify/develop resources for professional development and career growth
  • Monitors employee satisfaction and morale within Marketing and collaborates with leaders to identify and address issues
  • Facilitates a culture of transparency, appreciation, and change management
  • Aids in other tasks, as needed, as new capabilities are defined and established

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in a communications role
  • Clear and structured communication style that can adapt to a variety of audiences (Marketing and non)
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into succinct ideas and, as appropriate, visual representations to aid with ease of understanding
  • Creative thinker about topics, formats, and events to engage colleagues both intellectually and emotionally; experience designing/running hybrid sessions is a plus
  • Self-starter who identifies needs and proactively develops solutions/recommendations to address them
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues of all levels, including senior executives
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and manage priorities and expectations, as needed
  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft office applications
  • Baseball and sports enthusiast is a plus
