About this position:

Located in Marysville, Ohio, Honda Trading America is searching for an Sr. Administrative Assistant for the Metals, Plastics & Recycling (MPR) Department. The MPR Department is responsible for the management of the Honda Raw Material Supply System for Aluminum and Plastic as well as scrap recycling (aluminum, ferrous, plastic). Additional Raw Material direct sales business includes silicon, magnesium and foundry sub materials ($820M annual divisional sales).


Your responsibilities:

  • Support Buyer Activities - Assist customers with expediting issues; take detailed thorough messages to solve customer/supplier issues efficiently; support of projects and presentations; cross supply material as required.
  • Inside Sales - Support customer order & expedite requests through written documentation; update customer requirement changes; input customer requirements into SAP
  • Customer Invoicing - Create monthly sales and purchase orders to allow for accurate and timely invoices; provide explanation for profit margins that are either too high or too low; provide clear and logical backup detail with customer invoices so invoices can be paid in a timely manner
  • Material Claims Processing - Ensure timely completion and processing of customer claims and rejections, ensure timely inspection of material rejections by tech reps either by written or verbal correspondence.
  • Inventory Control & Maintenance - Effectively communicate inventory, transformation and cost issues to appropriate counterpart (where applicable). Work in partnership to solve outstanding issues and exceptions (suspend lists).
  • Operating Procedure Improvement - Analyze daily work activities to determine if greater efficiencies can be achieved. Develop and present analysis in a meeting format; assist in creating documentation to support new procedures
  • Filing System Maintenance - Keep invoices filed and archived according to department procedures; keep desk neatly organized to allow for efficient workspace.

What you need to be successful in the role:

  • SAP experience preferred

Required Work Experience:


  • Proficient MS office
  • Sound oral and written communication skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Basic cost accounting

Required Education:

  • High school diploma
