CFO Hub is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to Controller level individual with hands-on knowledge of government contract accounting. This position is initially a part-time position with an opportunity for full-time employment in the near future.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare proposal costing and incurred cost support documents for proposals
  • Keep accurate records of incoming and outgoing payments to the organization
  • Prepare and submit monthly billing invoices
  • Provide necessary financial reports to CEO
  • Conduct reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis
  • Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner including depreciation schedules etc.
  • Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments
  • Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition
  • Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of payroll submissions
  • Complete reports required by regulatory agencies. Review and evaluate policy and practices for compliance to Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) cost principles. Look for and provide solutions for accounting irregularities
  • Evaluate monthly indirect pool rate calculations for government cost monitoring
  • Local point-of-contact for Government Compliance accounting questions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline and ten (10) or more years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • US Citizenship, Permanent Residency or other status as a U.S. Person required. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information
  • Proficient skills in Government Accounting Software and Platforms – QuickBooks, MS Office, and especially Excel
  • Can work independently and without supervision when required. Team player able to multitask.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP
  • Comfortable with meeting deadlines and budgets
  • Preferred:
  • Government Contractor, FAR Cost Principles, and CAS experience
  • DFARS Business Systems audit experience
  • CPA license or licensing in-process

Here’s what your first year might look like:

  • Within the first 3 days… You will be fully onboarded and set up in company’s administrative systems.
  • Within the first month… You will be trained to successfully follow and implement established company processes and work closely with clients, staff, managers, and directors.
  • Within the first 3 months… You will be able to address and route all client questions coming in effectively and navigate all relationships with partners and staff. You'll be able to work independently and take responsibility of the day-to-day accounting & management reporting of assigned clients.
  • Within the first 6 months… You will have responsibility of enough client engagements so that the rest of the team is not overloaded, while leading assigned engagements from start to finish and daily client interaction and management.
  • Within the first year… You will have been proactive to identify problems that will or have arose, and you have offered actionable ideas/solutions to partners.
