TISTA Science and Technology* is seeking a Scrum Master to join our growing team in Rockville, MD.
Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of cross-functional Agile and SDLC project teams
  • Organize and facilitate Scrum-related ceremonies such as daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, retrospectives and others
  • Support business analysts with requirements gathering, feature and story grooming
  • Improve backlog management and release planning rigor; develop realistic and achievable release plans
  • Ability to prepare and maintain sprint documents, metrics such as burn down and velocity charts
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, hands-on and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Facilitate the removal of impediments and guide the team on early identification of impediments and both internal and external dependencies to increase successful sprint completion.
  • Create visibility into the progress of each sprint through use of velocity, burn down charts, committed vs. completed metrics, etc. Maintain this data over time to show team progression over time.
  • Ensure team is well informed on internal and external initiatives and activities
  • Drive stories to Ready state in preparation for upcoming sprints and releases
  • Facilitate cross-team coordination, tracking and following up with external dependencies
  • Coordinate with the release manager on environment setups & maintenance, code deployments, and production releases
  • Coach the team on agile and scrum principles with a goal of continuous improvement
  • Support the team through servant leadership and leading by example

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in IT and/or software development industry
  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master and/or Agile Coach leading multiple scrums with enterprise-level software development projects.
  • Must have an Agile Scrum Master Certification
  • Experience with IBM Rational Tools
  • Clear understanding of agile software development methodologies and key best practices
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills
