LewisGale Hospital Pulaski (LGHP) is located in the beautiful mountainous region of Virginia. Pulaski is considered a neighbor to the Virginia Tech Hokie community and is a short 45 minute drive from Roanoke, VA. The HCA (Hospital Corporation of America) hospital is a 147-bed acute care facility with more than 350 employees and has been recognized by Joint Commission as a Top Performer. The medical staff includes a wide range of primary care and specialty care physicians, including Cardiology, Otolaryngology, Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology and Oncology as well as Hospitalists.

Job duties and responsibilities for this role include the following:

  • Manages the physical environment of the surgical field; Monitors utilization of supplies and other resources; participates in counting procedure and time out procedure for each case, complying with PCH policy and procedure.
  • Keeps accurate and complete documentation of all sterilization records; Monitors OR instrument decontamination and processing; performs proper cleaning of endoscopes
  • As assigned assist in transporting patients from inpatient and outpatient areas to surgical services.
  • Effectively communicates pertinent information to the circulator and assist RN as requested.
  • Manages the physical environment of the endoscopy field; Monitors utilization of supplies and other resources; participates in time out procedure for each case, complying with PCH policy and procedure.

Requirements & Preferences:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Healthcare Provider certification upon employment or within 90 days of start is required.
  • Prior Nursing Assistant or EMT experience is preferred
