Immediate openings for Drivers at North Shore Transit in Skokie, IL. Experience isn’t needed for this position, our elite team of trainers will teach and train you to be a license and certified School Bus driver. Training is Free! Starting pay is $20.00 per hour!! The purpose of this position is to provide our school districts with enough well trained drivers to cover their routes throughout the school year. This is a great job for a career change, stay at home Parents, Unemployed, Underemployed, Veterans, Retirees and College Students looking for extra income.

Job Duties

• Transport children and other passengers to and from school
• Obey all traffic laws
• Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times
• Ensure the safety of all students
• Verify permissions for children who ride home with friends
• Assist students with getting on and off the bus as needed
• Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route
• Attend safety meetings as required
• Establish effective working relationships with others; provide guidance to other employees
• Model behaviors that are consistent with our values of Valuing all employees

Minimum Qualifications

· Must be at least 21 years of Age

· Possess a Valid Illinois Driver’s license (if out of state must convert to Illinois before driving school buses

· Good Verbal Communication skills

· Ability to follow instructions and perform duties as described in training and manuals
