School Based CPST Provider/Prevention Specialist

CommQuest is currently seeking team members for Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST) Provider / Prevention Specialist for our School Based Mental Health (SBMH) team. The Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST) Provider / Prevention Specialist provides services that focus on recovery and resiliency principles as they empower individuals experiencing mental illness to integrate, function, and succeed in their communities (homes, schools, work, and neighborhood), as well as focusing on prevention theories. This is a field-based position, which will require services delivered in assigned K-12 schools, along with services delivered in client homes, neighborhoods/communities, remote locations, etc.

Job Duties include:

• Provide mental health and/or AoD interventions including individualized life skills development, symptom monitoring, crisis management, ongoing assessment of needs, and client advocacy.
• Facilitation and development of daily living skills.
• Provide crisis intervention, as needed.
• Build strong relationships and relationship building skills with diverse populations.
• Promote positive parenting and family engagement.
• Develop and coordinate Individualized Service Plans (ISP).
• Focus on recovery and resiliency principles.
• Practice advocacy and outreach on behalf of clients.
• Work effectively in schools, homes, and community.
• Focus on prevention theories.
• Implementation of evidence based curriculum programs in groups.
• Service learning and alternate learning activities.
• Coordination with school and community.
• Presentations to groups on relevant topics.
• Involvement in community initiatives.
• All other duties as assigned.

. Requirements:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field is required.
• Minimum of one or more years of experience in the provision of CPST and/or Prevention services is highly desired.
• Previous work experience in working with students in a school setting (Pre-K through 12th) is highly preferred.
• Qualified staff will be expected to have or obtain the Qualified Mental Health Specialist (QMHS) credential and Chemical Dependency Counseling Assistant (CDCA) certification, if assigned to a high school setting.
• Qualified staff will be expected to become a registered applicant for the Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist (OCPS I,II) credential within 3 months of employment and obtain OCPS credentialing within 3 years of hire.
• Position requires routine evening hours and a willingness to allow some flexibility in scheduling a caseload.
• Position will require staff to visit with clients in a variety of settings including school, home, neighborhood/community, etc.
• Must have a valid Driver's License, proof of auto insurance, a driving record in accordance with agency standards, and requires use of personal vehicle.
