Job Description

This role can be a remote position from anywhere in the United States or Canada

The Solution Architect, SAP-CPQ is an experienced member of the SAP-CPQ team at eLogic who produces results with little required oversight. Working closely with the Managing Partner for SAP-CPQ who creates the vision for the solution area, and the Director who executes the strategic vision, the Solution Architect shapes and delivers the department objectives.

Specifically, this is a client-facing position and will function as product configuration consultant with hands-on product information gathering and structuring in dialog with the client. Based on the information gathered, you will be responsible for implementing the solution using approved eLogic methodology and best practices.

Solution Architects frequently:

  • Shape incoming work from business need to deliverables: Initial Teleconferences and Workshops; Business Development – Presales Engineer “First person in”; Draft SoWs
  • Drive work to customer value: Technical Lead project teams to execute; Project manage a successful solution delivery; Document design and implementation details; Escalate issues before they adversely impact projects
  • Help to Drive the practice forward: Continuous development of own skills; Mentor and assist in development of juniors; Stay current on evolving SAP product offerings; Contribute to knowledge base and lead by example; Adhere to Methodologies – Embrace Quality; Present on relevant topics in user groups and forumsWhat type of person excels at this role?

What technical skills do I need?

SAP Acumen

  • Proven experience deploying effective SAP variant configuration business solutions for global enterprises under multiple deadlines and resource constraints
  • Experience working with integrations to and from SAP system environments
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of variant configuration product modeling with hands-on modeling experience in at least 2+ full cycle implementations
  • Experience defining system strategy, system requirements, test plans, training plans, and support procedures
  • Familiarity with the industrial manufacturing industry as well as industry-specific requirements and challenges (especially configure-to-order and engineer-to-order commerce) is highly desirable
  • Experience with variant configuration functional integration to project systems, sales and distribution (especially pricing), production planning, classification, costing and engineering change management is highly desirable
  • Expertise with Order BOMs and Engineering Change Management (ECM) is highly desirable
  • Experience with third party CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) applications is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of ABAP and C# or Java programming is a plus

  • Project scoping, estimating, resource planning, and customer communication
  • Perform Business and Technical Assessments, and lead workshops
  • Generate agendas, status reports, other consulting documentation
  • Time and priority management skills
