OPPORTUNITY

ARS Aleut Analytical, LLC. (AAA), a leading provider of radiochemical and stable chemistry analytical services to governmental and commercial clients around the world for more than 25 years, has immediate openings for a Sampling Receiving Technician in our Portsmouth, OH laboratory. Portsmouth is at the confluence of the Ohio, Scioto, and Little Scioto rivers. It is a midway point among four major cities: Charleston, West Virginia, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio; and Lexington, Kentucky, each of which are approximately ninety miles away (roughly a two-hour drive).

AAA Portsmouth provides fully accredited stable chemistry and radiochemical analyses including gamma spectroscopy, alpha spectroscopy, gas flow proportional, and liquid scintillation analyses. Our radiochemical capabilities include analyses of radioactive isotopes ranging from tritium to plutonium in virtually any environmental media. We also provide specialized analytical services such as low-level tritium analyses. As a Radiochemist in our Radiochemical Group, you will be responsible for helping to provide our clients with the highest level of service and quality in the industry. These full-time, salary positions report to the Radiochemical Group Manager and offers opportunities for growth in an expanding, energetic company. POSITION SUMMARY

The Sample Receiving Technician is the initial point of contact for staff, clients, vendors, and the general public that call or visit the laboratory in person. This position is responsible for answering or routing inquiries appropriately, receiving and cataloguing samples, and ensuring proper chain of custody and laboratory safety guidelines are adhered to.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Receive laboratory samples and catalogue samples into laboratory network.

· Respond to calls from clients and scope projects and answer questions about analyses.

· Recommend testing based on client requests/problems.

· Dispose of samples and document chain-of-custody reports.

· Interface with clients shipping or delivering samples for analysis.

· Coordinate with all laboratory staff, corporate administrative staff, vendors, and clients to meet requirements.

· Additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

· High school diploma or equivalent with potential college-level Chemistry or Biology coursework.

SKILLS/ABILITIES

· Basic knowledge and understanding of chemical hazards and safety equipment used in laboratory.

· Basic understanding of good laboratory practices.

· Ability to accurately document and maintain records.

· Ability to interact with customers professionally needed. Technician should communicate clearly and establish working relationships with customers
