The Salon Service Operator provides salon services to customers, while maintaining a high level of quality and service delivery to residents, families and guests.


PRN (as needed)

Shifts vary between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday-Fridays

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide salon services to customers
  • Clean station and instruments according to state regulations; comply with safety regulations.
  • Complete required charges and submit to accounting on a daily basis
  • Coordinate all scheduling of assigned customers
  • Assist in transitioning of residents from one salon to another as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned

EQUIPMENT:

  • General Salon equipment
  • Telephone

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to walk and stand at long intervals throughout the day. (8 hour day).
  • Ability to bend, stoop, sweep and reach as needed.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds without assistance.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Strong communication skills – ability to communicate with staff at management level, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Proven success as a stylist in a CCRC environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • 2 years experience as a hair stylist
  • Current Cosmetology license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working with Seniors
  • Experience working in a CCRC.
