Trinity Highway Products is searching for a Safety Manager at our Fort Worth, TX plant!

This is a professional level EHS position that supports the Highway Division. In this role the ideal candidate will work closely with the Environmental Health and Safety Division Manager to ensure proper deployment and oversight of Trinity’s EHS management system.

What you'll do:

  • Implement and monitoring of established safety/environmental programs for compliance to company and government regulations
  • Document, recommend and monitor corrective actions to ensure adherence to safety programs
  • Provide daily/weekly training for new hire orientation as well as other safety training for plant personnel
  • Provide training to enable effective operation of the established safety systems
  • Initiate, document and monitor corrective actions to adherence to safety programs
  • Work with employees to resolve safety issues and techniques
  • Build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers
  • Solve dayto-day problems by analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures
  • Gather information and generate required and/or requested reports
  • Lead small projects and/or projects with minimal complexity
  • Use judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Will serve as resource for other departments as needed
  • Maintain records of training, qualifications, certifications, etc., as they apply to the safety program
  • Ability to maintain accurate, current records and generate complete and timely reports
  • Investigate incidents, accidents and nearmisses
  • Help prepare site safety plans for remote projects
  • Assist with project preparation and support projects at customer locations
  • Ability to travel to project locations on a regular basis
  • Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety or similar field preferred
  • 5 years' experience in general industry/manufacturing
  • CPR certified
  • OSHA 10 hour training
  • Environmental health and safety certification in general industry preferred. Example - SSH (specialist in safety and health), CSHO (certified safety and health official)
  • Bilingual (Written/Verbal Spanish) preferred, not required
  • Computer literacy with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • First Aid/Responder or EMT certification preferred
  • Ability to maintain accurate, current records and generate complete and timely reports
  • Ability to train others effectively on various safety topics
  • Able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
