Job Summary

Michigan Medicine’s Revenue Cycle is seeking a Developer to help develop, monitor, modify and configure Robotics Processing Automation (RPA) “bots” using our RPA application (Automation Anywhere) with the goal of helping various business teams automate process tasks within our EHR platform (Epic) and other applications.
This role requires an understanding of enterprise source systems and the programming, integration, software development lifecycle and maintenance to support. The candidate must have the ability to work closely with technical experts as well as business process owners and can learn quickly, solve problems, and adjust to real-world application. The role is to help create capacity through process automation so that the Revenue Cycle can do more innovative and critical work for our customers in the future.
A successful candidate is someone who loves finding patterns and solving puzzles independently, while bridging gaps between technical staff and business office staff.

Responsibilities*
Analyze, understand, and document business processes in detail Support the evaluation process by providing technical feasibility assessment based on sample content and process maps, while collaborating with Process Owner to guide decisions, recommend standards, and provide technical know-how Design, develop, schedule and execute automations using “drag and drop” RPA technology (Automation Anywhere) across multiple applications (Epic, Centricity, VisualCactus, etc.) Work with technical staff to determine when scripting is needed for more advanced functionality Identify and remove roadblocks in current business processes to maximize the quality and benefit of automation Helps monitor / maintain bots, perform break/fix analysis, and troubleshoot to resolve issues, Speaks openly about concerns and risks, and helps work collaboratively toward mitigations Communicates effectively with business partners and shares understanding of the technical requirements Works independently and maintains responsibility for RPA solutions adhering to standards and best practices (intermediate level)
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Information Technology or Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and expereince that emphasizes logic pattern recognition and independent problem solving. Minimum 2 years’ experiences in application development or application testing Demonstrated ability to document, design, build, test, deploy and maintain end-to-end workflows using recommended best practices Experience using or building complex, logic-based rulesets Has a strong sense of ownership; seeks a role with accountability and autonomy Strong problem solving, pattern recognition, and analytical skills Ability to use modular and user-interface driven scripting applications (“point and click”) to develop and maintain business processes according to business requirements. Able to build strong relationships and a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace Track record of communicating effectively with multi-disciplinary teams
Desired Qualifications*
Minimum 1 year of experience with the Epic HER system Epic application certification or proficiency Healthcare experience desired, Revenue Cycle experience a plus Experience using regular expressions Familiarity with HTML, CSS and other markup to understand website functionality; ability to review and understand coding languages Experience working in a scrum/Agile environment 0-2 years of professional software development experience, computer science, or coding “bootcamp”/coursework experience Familiarity with Java, .net, and API calls Familiarity with user interface development, modification and maintenance Experience with any RPA application (e.g. Automation Anywhere, UiPath) Demonstrated experience working with IT organizations on a project or program
Background Screening
