Job Description

Leprino Foods Company, a global leader in the dairy food and ingredient industry, is seeking a Whey CIP Operator to join our team located in Roswell, NM. Leprino Foods is the world's largest supplier of mozzarella cheese and one of the largest suppliers of premium dairy nutrition ingredients. The Whey CIP Operator is to make sure that all chemicals in the plant are filled up as per requested by each department and to take readings of chemical bulk tanks outside to keep track of chemicals; this position foams the Whey Department to maintain a clean environment and adhere to all the GMP’s, SOP’s, and Critical Control Points pertaining to Food Safety and USDA regulations.

At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $18.18 and $19.21.

We Ask of You To:


  • Records chemical levels and inputs this information into the computer. Writes down all fluids usage for each department and inputs this information into the computer.
  • Reports general chemical levels and usage by recording readings at the beginning of the shift and every two hours throughout the shift.
  • Walks out of the building to record levels of chemicals from outside tanks and wastewater flows from outside meters. Records water flows to pretreatment.
  • Rinse/Foam alcoves floor by foaming walls, ceilings, and floor. Make sure alcoves are sanitized.
  • Constantly changes pipes and elbows for CIP and process, making sure all pipes are connected to the right end to avoid product and water mixture. Also ensuring CIP is completed in a timely manner for the silos and tanks to be ready for use when required
  • Properly clean and sanitize all equipment as required by company procedures, maintain good housekeeping in area.
  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices at all times.
  • Demonstrate good safety behaviors and constantly apply them by following all applicable safety rules and regulations.
  • Communicate as required with Supervisors, Forepersons, other departments, and coworkers.
  • Responsible for clean-up of whey department equipment and line circuits, including CIP, COP and manual cleaning of production areas.
  • Ensure CIP systems are functioning properly, and chemical strengths are in line.
  • Allocate chemical usage to each production department and document usage.
  • Monitor Bulk Chemical / Day Tank inventories daily and review usages with supervisors.
  • Report any leaks, spillages, or over usages to supervisors.
  • Ensure Bulk Chemical room and dock are kept in a sanitary manner.
  • Ensure chemical containers are kept in a good condition and labeled properly.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by foreperson or supervisor.
  • This position is responsible for food safety and food quality.ave the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions safely.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7 day operation.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 8.5 hours.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with high degree of accuracy

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • This position will be exposed inside ambient temperatures and may include a wet / slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature
  • Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Bending, squatting, reaching, and climbing up stairs/ladders are required throughout the shift.
  • Standing and walking are required throughout the shift.
