Float Pool

Full Time - Night Shift (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.)

.The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) includes a full-service hospital with 318 patient beds. It serves as the region’s healthcare hub, serving southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana. EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (of only two in Idaho), and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho. Our ER is the most experienced in the region. The hospital's other specialty services include the region's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit capable of caring for babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation; the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Unit, the largest heart program in the region, a Behavioral Health Center which is a74-bed Joint Commission accredited psychiatric hospital and the region’s only Primary Stroke Center.

Provide coverage primarily for the following units:

Medical SurgicalMedical/OncologyAcute Rehab

Behavioral Health Center (separate facility only a block away).

Work Schedule Info:

Nights Only (7 p.m. - 7 a.m.) with rotating weekends with rotating weekends and holidays

  • While you may be selected/offered a particular position that has a defined work schedule of Days or Nights you work in a hospital environment and at anytime there may be a need for you to work the alternative (non – preferred work schedule) to ensure for coverage. You will revert back to your previous work schedule the moment we are able to do so based on staffing. If you prefer to be transferred to the other shift please notify the Director who will put you on a list and consider transfer when staffing deems appropriate.

RN Float Pool:

  • This position assesses patients (on the unit to which the RN is assigned) for educational, physiological, psychosocial, comfort and safety needs.

  • Plans and coordinates care.

  • Performs treatments, procedures, and administers medication within state Registered Nurse practice guidelines.

  • Follows up with other associates, other departments, and others as necessary.

  • Primary purpose of the Float/Transition Pool is to fill in for ill calls and times of high census or to cover for LOA’s.

  • Required to float to all nursing units where competencies have been completed. (Except special procedure units i.e. cath lab, angio etc.)

Qualifications


Current State of Idaho Registered Nurse license or RN Compact license required.

Current AHA or ARC CPR for Healthcare Provider’s certification.

Experience: At least one-year medical/surgical acute care hospital experience required.

Education: Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
