RN Employee Health: Part-Time:

Under the direction of the Associate Administrator of Human Resources, is responsible for developing, administering, and evaluating occupational health services (prevention and control of communicable diseases and work-related illnesses, accidents, and injuries). This position promotes safety practices in collaboration with Human Resources and Infection Prevention and holds a seat on the Safety Committee and any other committees as deemed necessary. This position also coordinates resolution of employee health/infection control issues with the infection control practitioner. Duties include the education of hospital staff, volunteers, and physicians. Serves as a resource person. Possesses detailed and organized employee health records. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the employee’s needs; possesses knowledge of growth and development for all ages including adolescent, adults, and geriatric. This position maintains an employee health database and works with Human Resources to ensure workers compensation and transitional duty policies are being consistently applied. Situations may occur that require responding during off hours.

Qualifications

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Utah RN License, compact license allowed. American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support course (BLS or BCLS) and certification within 7 days of hire. American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Supporrt course (ALS or ACLS) and certification within 90 days of hire.

Education: Associate’s Degree.

Experience: At least two years experience in Employee Health/Worker’s Compensation preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and skill in operating a computer, utilizing information systems, technology and computer systems to obtain, interpret, an communicate information. Organize and display data, knowledge of data collection, aggregation, analysis, and basic statistical methods required. Knowledge and experience in epidemiological principles. Knowledgeable in adult education principles. Must be able to respect diversity of each individual’s values, culture, spiritual beliefs, and other socioeconomic issues in addressing the needs of patients, families, and co-workers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in addition to strong customer services skills are required.
