John Hancock is hiring Senior Risk Data Analyst s to collaborate with global process owners, key risk areas, business partners, and IT counterparts to develop an actionable view of Cybersecurity and IAM risk.


The successful candidate will support the Director in leading and managing the team with the following:

  • preparation regulatory exams and reporting

  • manage and oversee the planning, testing, and implementation of projects and initiatives, which affect the Regulatory Reporting.

  • ensure reporting is in accordance with the relevant external requirements.

  • assess, recommend and execute remediation for all identified issues

  • active management of all control weaknesses

  • embed and drive adherence to the Governance & Oversight Framework

  • ensure all operational documentation is maintained and is best in class

  • design, implement and test effective controls

  • ensure compliance with all internal recommendations and guidance

  • manage the daily, monthly & quarterly regulatory reporting as required by local regulatory bodies

  • drive change to ensure the Regulatory Reporting team is best in class.

  • undertake regular self-assessments to ensure all new risks are actively managed and mitigated

  • ensure the team executes and manages all regulatory changes in a timely and controlled manner.

  • provide mentorship and guidance to staff

  • autonomously lead program execution with documented project plans, expectations and schedule, and provide status reports, escalation and impediment resolution


Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree preferred

Industry-leading certifications preferred:

CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CISM, CEH, and/or CIPT

5 years+ experience with relevant functional area in information technology and in various cyber disciplines such as:

  • Cloud and Modern Delivery (Container, DevOps, AWS, etc.) Security

  • Build & Release (BaR) Process Management

  • Cyber Monitoring Program (SOC, Intel, Forensics)

  • Vulnerability and Risk Management

  • Network and System Security

  • Incident & Intelligence Management

  • Microservices design and security

Highly Proficient in Cybersecurity risk management, regulatory and operational risk management practices

You will succeed in the role with: Independent judgment, strong analytical and project management skills, good communication and presentation skills.
Experience with risk assessments; proficiency in risk and control data analysis, the ability to incorporate and understand mass information from a variety of sources to recommend a course of action.
