Revenue Cycle Management Clerk

One of these key services is provided by our Revenue Cycle Management pod within our Dental Entrepreneur Practice Group where our highly skilled team monitors and supports the collection of payments and performs necessary actions at each step to ensure the cycle functions effectively.

The Position

The Revenue Cycle Management Clerk focuses on ensuring accurate and timely submission of insurance claims, obtaining missing information, researching denials, following up on claims, patient ledger auditing, statement submission, collections calls and maintaining compliance with department standards, HIPAA, and governing agency policies and procedure.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Team Lead with team tasks and special projects
  • Audit RCM payments posted in software to ensure accuracy and quality of work
  • Gather all forms of payment to each DEPG office: EFT's, Lockboxes, VCC's and Office Checks. Office Checks; organize, sort, scan, deposit, and distribute to the proper account and RCM Specialist. EFT's; Reconcile payments with bank, retrieve, organize and distribute. LB; Retrieve, organize and distribute. VCC's; check fax inbox daily, organize and distribute
  • Documenting payer and patient payments in shared excel spreadsheets
  • Work closely with accounting department to obtain bank inforamation regarding payments received daily
  • Oversee all email correspondence and follow up with an RCM Specialist if it was directed to them

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years' experience with of dental or medical billing
  • Knowledge of payment posting, cash posting and dental reimbursements
  • Understand an EOB including denial code review and COB with secondary insurance
  • Familiar with dental terminology, CDT and revenue codes for billing
  • Able to work independently and on a team
  • Adept at problem solving, conducting root cause analysis and recommending resolutions
  • Detail oriented with excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) at an intermediate level
