RETAIL CATEGORY DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

The Retail Category Development Manager serves as catalyst for potential new products and categories, is used as a resource for product knowledge and availability, and maintains the integrity of our product catalogue. This is an ideal position for a current assistant or associate retail buyer who has a personal passion for computers and electronics! This position is based at our Hilliard, Ohio corporate home office.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Research and develop tests for new categories
• Follow new technology and evaluate specific categories to look for new opportunities
• Manage the test products between the test stores and home office
• Work with the buyers and the store regarding test products and process
• Develop relationship with vendors on new items and test process
• Maintain test product inventory management and final results
• Support stores with any new product requests
• Responsible for the financial transactions for the test process
• Maintain the internal product categorization hierarchy
• Other test-related duties assigned by management

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred
• 3+ years’ experience in a retail buying or analyst role
• Personal passion for electronics, technology and/or computers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of retail buying procedures preferred
• Analytical mindset with ability to see trends in data
• Highly organized with focus on execution, problem solving, and improving sales
• Strong attention to detail in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• Exceptional time management skills
• Strong interest and ability in learning new technology trends in all categories
• Team player with an ability to work collaboratively
• Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Database related programs
