Job Description

Redding is an ideal setting for healthcare professionals desiring freedom from traffic and smog, as well as easy access to abundant outdoor adventure. Local to the Sacramento River, Lassen Volcanic National Park, and three beautiful lakes, our town is a prime location for hiking, fishing, trail-walking and water sport enthusiasts! A one-hour drive will take you snow skiing on Mt. Shasta, and the serene Northern California coast is just over three hours away. We are two hours south of the Oregon border, and a reasonable day-trip distance from San Francisco and Sacramento.

Shasta Regional Medical Center (SRMC) is located in Redding, CA. Candidates must be willing to work shifts on site at SRMC in Redding, CA. Shasta Regional Medical Center complies with the State Mandate related to the COVID vaccine for healthcare workers. A Shasta Regional Medical Center employee or applicant can claim a religious or medical exemption. Medical exemption approval will require certification by a health care provider. Religious exemption does not require certification and is reviewed internally. Job Description

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director, the RCP II is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Education and Work Experience

  • State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required.
  • Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
  • 2 years experience as an RCP preferred.
  • ACLS certificate within 60 day of hire and maintain current.
  • NRP certificate preferred.
  • PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree required. If there is no Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree, a high school diploma or equivalent is required
