JOB REQUISITIONResearch Associate, executive search LOCATIONCAN VANCOUVER JOB DESCRIPTION Robert Half is seeking a Research Associate for the Canadian executive search practice group. The Research Associate is an invaluable partner to Managing Directors, Service Delivery Lead Principals, and Researchers of the practice group. The Research Associate will partner with and assist the Service Delivery Lead in driving all aspects of the research process including managing the execution and direction of research; search strategy development; position specification development; candidate development; candidate interviews, assessment, and presentation; and referencing. This includes active participation in support of candidate identification, name generation, database development, and confirming information in the firm’s database. The scope of research is broad and varies between disciplines and industry to include identification of executives and industry-specific targets, ensuring accurate contact information, and engaging in preliminary screening calls with targets to verify both the accuracy of information and level of interest in working with the executive search practice group. An integral part of a Research Associate's role is relationship management - networking and building strong relationships with senior executives and assessing them against the client's requirements. The Research Associate will engage in strategic decision making and candidate identification initiatives and this will include taking the lead on specific searches for the life of a search engagement. This individual will manage the research process/projects for each search he/she undertakes as the lead researcher. The role will report directly into the Service Deliver Lead. The responsibilities of the Research Associate are, but not limited to:
  • Collaborate with Managing Directors/Service Delivery Leader to develop a focused search strategy
  • Identify prospective candidates through targeted company research, industry sources, relevant prior searches, and internal sources
  • Conduct in-depth phone interviews to qualify prospective candidates against position requirements and key competencies and attract qualified candidates to the client assignment
  • Write candidate assessments for presentation to the client
  • Maintain progress, status, and market feedback reports for presentation to Managing Director and Client, as well as assist Managing Director with candidate referencing
  • Conduct industry specific research from primary and secondary sources; gather information from the client, Managing Director, and marketplace to gain comprehensive understanding of the industry, business situation and the position requirements
  • Align with Research Department to maintain data and information on relevant trends and challenges in the marketplace
  • Maintain the accuracy, quality, and integrity of all search information; and
  • Create position advertisements when necessary.
EXPERIENCE & PROFILE REQUIRED Education
  • An undergraduate degree is required, preferably in Business or Communications.
Functional Competencies
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a professional services environment, preferably in the recruitment industry
  • Exemplary written communication skills, with strong business and technical writing experience required
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, planning and project management skills; and
  • A team player who enjoys a collegial, collaborative work environment.
