As a Relationship Executive on the Workplace Relationship Management team, you’ll play a pivotal role by building strategic partnerships and providing outstanding customer service to large, primarily Fortune 500 plan sponsors. The Relationship Executive serves as the primary business owner of our largest and/or most sophisticated plan sponsors. This position is responsible for developing and managing a business plan for each account within an assigned book of business that will meet or exceed client expectations while furthering Edelman Financial Engines’ business goals, particularly in areas of revenue growth and retention, client happiness and client implementations. Relationship Executives are encouraged to devise and execute strategies that expand EFE’s relationships into senior management levels within client organizations.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and understand client’s business goals, plan / benefits strategy and major priorities
  • Establish joint objectives in collaboration with Account Management, Communications Management team members and other internal partners
  • Keep clients advised of new products and services and any updates to EFE’s business strategy
  • Serve as primary client contact for critical issues
  • Understand and effectively communicate EFE’s value proposition
  • Develop and execute renewal strategy
  • Partner closely with in-house counsel on drafting and finalization of contracts
  • Build and implement sales strategy; identify & assess cross sell opportunities
  • Represent Clients’ Interests within EFE: Seek and synthesize input from clients regarding business needs. Determine prioritization and importance for client’s needs and advocate appropriately within EFE
  • Industry and Product Knowledge: Stay informed of developments and challenges in the 401(k) industry as well as the advice and discretionary asset management markets
Requirements:
  • 15+ years of institutional relationship experience in Defined Contribution/Fortune 500 companies
  • Knowledge of retirement plans and issues and challenges of the 401(k) marketplace
  • A proven track record in managing large institutional client relationships
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Track record of successfully selling into existing relationships
  • Experience presenting to and communicating with senior managers and executives
  • Ability to empower and influence internal colleagues, including crafting and maintaining positive relationships with team members, partners and senior management
  • Ability to maintain and grow client relationships
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required; advanced degree a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 30- 40% of the time
