Job Description

Washington Regional's Neuro Progressive Unit is a 20-bed step-down unit whose patient population includes Strokes, Seizures, Traumatic Brain Injuries, & Elective Spinal Surgeries. Our Neuro Progressive Unit helps bridge the gap between intensive care & medical/surgical units and provides specialized care for our neuro population. The patients on this unit are more stable, but still require a high level of skilled nursing care & surveillance. Nurse-to-Patient Ratio is 4:1 and is dependent on acuity of the patient(s).

Team Culture
Our team consists of Registered Nurses, Educators, Clinical Coordinators, and Acute Care Nurse Assistants. You'll work closely with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and case management to facilitate optimal wellness and post-discharge transitions of care. RNs on Neuro Progressive also work closely with the Neuro ICU staff to ensure a successful transition across the continuum of care. This unique population and a consistent group of vascular neurologists, neurosurgeons, and advanced practice providers (APRNs and PAs) allow for the development of collaborative and supportive relationships among caregivers.

Qualifications
Unencumbered RN license, CPR, and ACLS*

Orientation/Training
Our Neuro Progressive Unit provides up to 12 weeks of orientation. WRMC also provides additional training courses through our Education Department and is an AHA Training Center.
