We are seeking an Associate Regional Sales Manager for our Superior Signals team, to grow and maintain sales with new and existing customers in assigned geographic territory in concert with overall company sales objectives. You will learn how to manage quality and consistency of product and service delivery while successfully working in close collaboration with inside sales team to reach department and organizational goals.

  • Learn the processes for managing an assigned sales territory to achieve sales objectives including developing skills to build and foster effective customer relationships and sales opportunities
  • Contact existing and prospective customers in person and via phone on a regular and consistent basis to develop and build strong relationships with key personnel within target customer base
  • Learn to obtain and submit orders, establish new accounts and service existing accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule and referring to price lists, promotions, product literature and special quotations
  • Learn to train customer staff on use of SSI website and other sales tools features and functions
  • Learn to conduct sales analysis reports
  • Learn how to compare and cross competitors items
  • Learn how to compare and upsell new technology as it applies to our products
  • Learn how to gather competitive literature and promotional material with customer consent
  • Learn how to effectively present all appropriate products and services to assigned customer base
Key Responsibilities
  • Work and travel with mentor, trainer and/or manager to gather and use competitive market information to create sales opportunities and customer relationships
  • Update customer databases, complete customer feedbacks, and record quotes and contacts in SalesForce and other company databases/tools
  • Assist team in development of current low value customers and identification and development of new or inactive accounts
  • Identify and resolve basic customer questions and issues of basic scope including invoicing issues, claims, order errors, and customer cancellations
  • Utilize sales planning tools and the pipeline management process to research and develop metrics to monitor and manage the sales process and obtain business objectives and goals
  • Learn to cooperatively work inside and outside sales teams to identify and capitalize on opportunities for up-selling/cross selling to existing accounts
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four year college or university OR a minimum of four years work experience in Inside or Outside Sales
  • Must have attended sales classes/seminars in college or possess a minimum of three years work experience as an Inside Sales Representative
  • Demonstrates proficient understanding of the industrial lighting industry, parts, customers, suppliers and vendors
  • Demonstrates understanding and desire to master sales techniques including cold calling, customer qualification and customer acquisition
  • Demonstrated proficiency using a company ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system and company sales planning tools
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates basic proficiency in developing and delivering company and sales presentations and proposals
  • Demonstrates proficient organizational, time management, and follow up skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with other departments to achieve business objectives
  • Willing and able to travel domestically (flying and driving) up to 75% including weekend travel
  • Sales experience in vehicle safety lighting and traffic control products
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures in English
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers, and customers in English
