Summary


This position requires meeting with end users, industrial contractors, EPCs and OEM’s to work with them on specifications and large bids for the Industrial and Factory Automation products and solutions. Working with our distributor partners who provide a channel to market for our products, working with them in developing a relationship with key customers.


Description of Duties and Responsibilities


  • Strategically develop customer targets and plans to meet or exceed the sales goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key decision makers.
  • Develop strategies for maintaining and developing long term accounts.
  • Accountable for meeting business plans throughout the Southeast Region (TN, AL, FL, GA, NC, SC).
  • Conduct sales seminars for customers (Engineers, Contractors, End Users, OEM’s, etc) to familiarize them with all Southwire products and services.
  • Ensure proper conduct of sales transactions and shipments to minimize complaints, back orders, credit problems, and other situations leading to customer dissatisfaction.
  • Provide competitive feedback to management and work with Product Directors.
  • Follow up on all quotations and prospect leads.
  • Working directly with product directors to ensure product meets the customer specifications.
  • Identify and track all major industrial construction projects in the Southeast.
  • Provide technical support to assigned Southwire Agents and direct company sales team.
  • Strategically gain specification approval with OEM’s, end users, assembly houses, machine builders, integrators and contractors (when necessary) to work with them on OEM needs and large project bids. Also working with our distributor partners, Tier 1, 2’s who provide a channel to market for our products and working with them in developing a relationship with key customers.


Qualifications and Experience Requirements


  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Business Administration or related degree along with 5 plus years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have proven track record for handling multi-million dollar industrial cable purchases.
  • Experience in Factory Automation is highly desirable.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills with an aptitude to challenge the status quo and possess a proactive solution-driven approach to problem solving.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication, organization, presentation, exceptional interpersonal skills including a unique ability to network with a wide variety of groups.
  • Knowledge of SW IT systems including SAP is a plus.
  • Preferred candidate to be located in Atlanta, Georgia or surrounding area.
  • Requires up to 60% travel throughout assigned territory.
