Providence Palliative Care is hiring a Regional Director of Palliative Care (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) with the option to be based out of multiple sites in the greater Los Angelas area or South Bay!

We are seeking a Director, Palliative Care who will be responsible for direct oversight palliative services as well as planning, operations and business development of palliative care services across the continuum (acute, out-patient and community) throughout the Los Angeles and Orange County service area in collaboration with the Chief of Hospice and Palliative Care, Acute care ministry leaders, ambulatory care leaders and Executive Director of Hospice, Southern California. Responsibility includes managing acute-based interdisciplinary palliative care teams at five or more medical centers, palliative practice in two clinic settings, and home-based interdisciplinary palliative services covering all of Los Angeles, Orange counties and the high desert areas of So Cal for adults and pediatrics. The Director of Palliative Care is a regional executive responsible for interfacing with payors and business strategy to align palliative care into value-based payor models, foundations/philanthropy (fundraising, select grant writing, and grant funding accountability) and select Board of Director committee support and special projects.

In this position you will:

  • Guides development and implementation of objectives for palliative care across the continuum, standards of care, and policies and procedures affecting the programs of Providence Palliative Care.
  • Leads business development for palliative care in partnership with Providence Home and Community Care and So Cal regional business development team, and philanthropy Boards of Directors on strategy leading to achievement of annual business and financial targets.
  • Responsible for contributing to development of the palliative care service budget and its implementation. Accountable for public and private grant funds and outcomes. Works with the Chief Hospice and Palliative Care, So Cal Region and ministry executive teams, TrinityCare and Acute ministry Foundation Boards of Directors, and PH&S Finance.
  • Participates in development of the organization’s strategic plan and facilitates its implementation.
  • Monitors service for progress toward accomplishing operational and strategic plan goals.
  • Represents Palliative Care on select identified committees in Providence. Networks and collaborates with Regional Palliative Care leads in Nor Cal, OR, and WA. Participates on select identified Palliative Care/TrinityCare Hospice/HCC committees.
  • Supports select Board of Directors Committees and governance work.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 5 years progressively responsible management/supervisory experience in palliative care, hospice, or related healthcare organization
  • 5 years experience in healthcare administration
  • Must be a California licensed driver with an automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the state and/or PH&S/TrinityCare Hospice requirements

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field
