Referral Specialist

CCI Health & Wellness Services empowers patients to partner with staff for an unparalleled healthcare experience. Our services include primary care, behavioral health, dental, adolescent health, HIV and infectious disease testing and treatment, prenatal, and family planning. CCI Health & Wellness Services is also the largest provider of WIC services in the state of Maryland.

We are seeking a Referral Specialist who will assist in providing patient centered, coordinated pa care by being responsible for processing referrals for patients who seek medical treatment outside of CCI Health & Wellness Services.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process all managed care referral paperwork.
• Schedule appointments for specialists when needed.
• Contact outside offices and facilities to obtain information to accurately complete referral requests.
• Maintain referral records and file documentation.
• Assist with check-out and follow up appointments.
• Process insurance referral pre-authorization
• Assist patients in filling out applications for specialty programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma. AA or BS degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year of work experience in a medical setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in person or over the phone.
• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Computer skills required.
• Superior customer service skills required.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
