GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Mental Health Paraprofessional providing support services with a Recovery-oriented, person-centered approach to assist members in re-building their lives. The Recovery Associate works within a Treatment Plan and under the direct supervision of a Mental Health Professional to provide therapeutic interventions prescribed from Treatment Plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Understand, embrace and practice the Birch person-centered Recovery Model.
2. Understand member treatment plans and prescribed interventions.
3. Effectively deliver and document interventions as prescribed.
4. Partner with members and assist them in becoming progressively less dependent on staff to pursue their recovery process.
5. Maintain healthy relationships with members, always respecting appropriate boundaries.
6. Meet or surpass individual service delivery expectations.
7. Submit documentation to meet billing deadlines.
8. Contribute toward all branch team outcomes measures as follows: 1. Members moving to less restricted environments, 2. Members working in the community, 3. Service utilization, 4. Improvement in DLA.
9. Serve as an advocate, resource and role model for members.
10. Assist members as necessary or as assigned in maintaining a safe, clean, healthy treatment and residential environment.
11. Observe self-administration of member medications.
12. Collaborate with other members of treatment team and other shifts assuring communication of vital member and or other information.
13. Abide all times by: 1. Birch Mission and intentions, 2. Code of Ethics and Conduct, 3. Birch Policies and procedures.
14. Maintain current certifications in MHPP/QBHP, Averting Crisis & Emergency Holds Training, CPR, First Aid and AED training.
15. Complete co-occurring training.
16. Complete all other annual training as may be mandated by Birch.
17. Adhere to all Birch requirements for attendance and punctuality.
18. Perform all duties as may be assigned by supervisor(s).
19. Self-motivated, able to work harmoniously in a team-oriented, culturally diverse environment.
20. Organizational, communication and time management skills.
21. Holder of current driver's license and possess the ability to transport members in company vehicles on an as needed basis.
22. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, members, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. Ability to perform these mathematical skills using money and other forms of measurement.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to use common sense understanding in order to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few known variables in situations of a routine nature.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Under immediate supervision, performs general assignments of work, with periodic check of performance by supervisor.
