The Receiving Inspector Role:

  • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment.

  • Receives, counts, sorts, packages, and labels production material per established procedures and documents.

  • Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.

  • Operates dolly and/or pallet jack in loading and unloading materials and equipment.

  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, related to safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.

  • Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments/locations.

  • Positively interface with cross-functional workgroups and internal customers to produce results in alignment with Quality strategies and goals.

  • Work independently once work direction has been provided.

  • Perform Quality Control Incoming, In-Process, and Final Inspections following written procedures for electro-mechanical medical devices utilizing test and measurement equipment.

  • Complete and file quality records including process travelers, inspection reports, non-conforming material reports, and reprocess orders.

  • Maintain the Quality Control Inspection area in a neat and orderly manner.

Skills

  • Effectively give and receive feedback.

  • Familiarity with general mechanical inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges. Preferrable.

  • Excellent attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

  • Ability to communicate well and professionally with technical personnel and all fellow employees.

  • Ability to work occasional overtime and weekend hours.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

  • Previous experience in a receiving role and quality inspections are preferred.
