Job Description
Overview:Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, an Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a Real Estate Project Assistant based in the Orange County (Costa Mesa) office.
We are looking for a proactive “team player” with the desire to work in a fast paced environment. The ability to multitask and to prioritize assignments to meet deadlines is a must. Strong communication skills are required to interact with paralegals, attorneys and clients. This is an excellent position for an individual considering law school or graduate school in the future. No prior legal experience is required, but an interest in business and/or the real estate field is a plus.Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  • Preparation of real estate documents, including office, industrial and retail lease and purchase agreements and real estate finance documents.
  • Participation in negotiation of real estate documents.
  • Implementation of revisions to real estate documents based on negotiations and input from clients.
  • Organization of documents for real estate closings.
  • Draft correspondence; interact and communicate with clients on a daily basis.
  • Obtain and organize information from internal and external sources.
  • Perform administrative and support tasks as needed.
  • The Project Assistant will be actively be involved in all stages of documenting real estate transactions, including preparing initial and revised drafts of documents and preparing for closing. Candidate must be very organized and detail-oriented to see each document through to its conclusion, as such individual will be responsible for handling multiple assignments on a given day.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications: We are looking for a proactive “team player” with the desire to work in a fast paced environment. The ability to multitask and to prioritize assignments to meet deadlines is a must. Strong communication skills are required to interact with paralegals, attorneys and clients. Must be willing to commit to working in this role for at least two years minimum.
Education

Required: Bachelor's Degree with strong academic performance. You are required to list your undergraduate GPA on your resume. Your academic records will be verified if offered the position.
Computer/Software Knowledge

Required: Excellent skills working with Microsoft Suite especially Word, Excel and Outlook.
Work Environment

This position requires that you work physically in our Orange County office as public safety conditions allow. Ability and willingness to work overtime to meet client needs.
