Description/Comment: Position Summary / Responsibilities
Performs analyses and tests of raw materials, packaging materials, and/or finished products from manufacturing, to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for the chemical or physical property. Performs a variety of qualitative tests or qualitative assays on samples, and to aid in maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatus to ensure compliance. Prepares and monitors quality statistics and reports. Reviews production records for conformance to procedures. Conducts non-conformance tests of manufactured, packaged or tested product.

Supervision Given and Received
Limited supervision. No instructions needed on routine work, and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.
Typical Duties and Tasks
Duties & tasks are varied and moderately complex. Resolves most questions and problems, and refers complex questions to higher levels.
Consequence of Errors
Errors may be difficult to detect and would normally result in loss of customer business, material, or equipment to resolve.
Contacts
Contacts are frequent with individuals representing other departments, and/or representing outside organizations. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data on matters of moderate importance to the function of the department or which may be of sensitive nature.
Basic Qualifications
AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience.

Special Requirements **Remote is not an option, resource must be onsite 100%**

NBPI (Navsea Basic Paint Inspector) or NACE (National Association of Coating Engineer). Software experience with SAP systems. Individual will be required to inspect coating systems and blasted steel on navy vessels. Individual shall have knowledge and experience of SSPC/AMP standards and processes pertaining to preservation of steel.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $30.88 per hour
