Job Posting Title: Quality Assurance Specialist, Health, Safety and Environmental

The Health & Safety Specialist will provide guidance, using strong verbal and written communication skills as a subject matter expert on occupational safety and health standards, risk assessment methodologies and safety management systems. Assist the facility leadership with the design and implementation of a safety and health management system with an emphasis on compliance, critical hazards, and risk reduction.


General

  • Support Health, Safety and Environmental programs for DSV Air & Sea U.S. / PR locations which includes branch office locations and warehousing.
  • Analyze Health and Safety data for the area of responsibility (AR) and implement programs to improve the Health and Safety performance;
  • Carry out Health & Safety risk assessments in the area of responsibility (AR)
  • Carry out aspects & impacts assessments in the area of responsibility
  • Carry out accident investigations (including environmental incidents) when needed and ensure effective Corrective Actions implemented and closed out;
  • Provide guidance to the AR on the requirements of identifying and implementing local HS&E Laws and monitor that compliance has been carried out.
  • Coordinate environmental activities with HSE agents, including collection of Eco-Consumption data, implementing local Sustainability campaigns (including Sustainability week activities), review and communication of key environmental documents to ensure ISO 14001 compliance.
  • Ensure the implementation of the corporate HSE Management System in the AR
  • Ensure compliance to legal and regulatory Health & Safety requirements
  • Continuous development, identification, and implementation of HSE training; train HSE Officers in the AR
  • Continuous evaluation and identification of HS related Customer/Industry requirements.
  • Engage regularly with HSE Agents in the AR ensuring HS performance is met.
  • Conduct monthly Heath & Safety meetings with HS Agents
  • Support customer audits in regard to the HSE requirements for the AR.
  • Perform internal and external HSE audits according to the regional audit plan
  • Ability to implement ISO9001, ISO45000, ISO14001 requirements within business unit

  • Excellent know how of ISO45000, ISO 14001, ISO9001
  • Excellent know how in carrying out an QHSE Internal Audits

  • Knowledge about trends and challenges for the industry
  • Willingness to travel approx. 20-30%

Educational background / Work experience

  • Basic knowledge on computerized systems IT architecture
