The Proposal Specialist is a critical member of SEAKR’s business development team and is responsible for generating profession, compelling proposals essential to growing the business. The ideal candidate will have a mix of established skillsets such as technical writing, engineering knowledge, space market experience, and cost estimations program controls. This entry-level position is an ideal opportunity for an entrepreneurial professional looking to join an industry leader in the high growth space market.

The space market is in an inflection point driven by much lower launch costs creating industry dynamics never seen before. The market opportunities are significant especially for nimble innovative companies like SEAKR. To capitalize on this exponential market opportunity, SEAKR is expanding its core competencies to include space mission primes and payload primes roles. This pivot from primarily a subsystem provider to a mission/payload prime provider has opened the door for many exciting opportunities. In this role, you will be part of a close-knit team all with the desire to be a part of something new.

You will have an active role in proposals execution to ensure we deliver high quality products that meet our customers’ most critical needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience with the proposal process, technical writing, technical document/graphics/image generation, and cost estimating skills. As a valuable part of the SEAKR business development team, you will also have opportunities to support outbound sales engagements at conferences around the country. This is a full-time exempt position in which the work is performed under limited supervision by executive management and is evaluated on results obtained.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support the business development team in creating strong Requests for Information, Rough Order of Magnitude quotes, white paper, and proposal responses.
  • Strong word, excel and power point knowledge and skills
  • Contribute to and support marketing execution which includes product & marketing literature, trade show presence, trade journals articles, white papers, press releases, presentations, and datasheets.
  • The ideal candidate will technical and business writing proficiency including contributing to technical, cost and management volumes
  • Some travel is could be required up to 10% of the time.
  • The candidate will either have Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) with polygraph clearance or be capable of obtaining one.

Qualifications


Education or Formal Training

  • The ideal candidate will have a technical or business background with a bachelor’s engineering or business degree or the equivalent combination of training and experience.

Experience

  • Ideal experience is 2+ years of proposal team experience with some experience in the space market

Other

  • Must be capable of creating and presenting high-quality presentations and word documents for effective communication of architecture concepts necessary for technical proposals.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in engineering or business
  • 2+ years’ experience in technical, business, or proposal management - ideally in the space market segment
  • Ability to obtain or already have a Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance

Additional Information


Compensation: Base salary range is $55,000- $65,000, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA. There is potential for a remote hybrid work schedule once training is complete.
