Project Manager (Water/Wastewater)

Our Southeast Water Business is growing! In response to this growth, our Water group in Charlotte, NC is looking to bring onboard a Senior Project Manager to help with the continued development and growth of GHD’s Water Business. You will also provide technical leadership and delivery of major water treatment, wastewater treatment, collection, distribution and stormwater studies, design and construction engineering services throughout the region.

Specific responsibilities in this role will include:

• Grow relationships with existing and prospective clients through business development, sales and marketing
• Lead or assist project teams in development of facility and or utility master plans for wastewater facilities
• Lead proposal development efforts for new business
• Taking ownership of specific portions of assigned tasks, and/or leading task teams, while working closely with engineers, designers and project managers
• Perform and/or check design calculations
• Participate in on-site testing, startup or troubleshooting of water or wastewater facilities or infrastructure
• Conducts work to appropriate professional standards and to the firm’s QA/QC requirements. Participates in QA/QC programs for other projects as requested by managers.
• Perform schedule reviews on construction projects and maintain/develop design schedules for design projects
• Mentorship of engineering staff
• Recruitment of new team members

For success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• Current Professional Engineer (PE) license
• At least 20 years of water/wastewater design experience in municipal water, wastewater, water resource, and/or conveyance projects in the Southeast region; 10 years of experience in the Charlotte market
• Significant experience in pumping station and pipeline design
• Strong understanding of consulting engineering business and municipal agencies
• Strong business development, proposal preparation, and marketing skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to conduct effective client presentations and written report preparation
• The ability to prioritize, track budgets, project schedules and anticipate associated upcoming tasks
