Job Description

Geosyntec, an international geo-environmental consulting firm headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida is seeking a full-time .NET Programmer/Developer to be based out of our Boca Raton, Florida office location. This role will provide intermediate to advanced-level .NET programming and development service and support as the primary job function to over 1,700 employees, while adhering to departmental procedures and company policies. Successful candidates will have a strong customer service focus for regular interfacing with company employees, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to identify and resolve problems expeditiously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide advanced, complex level programming, development, and implementation of software applications using C# and .NET core.
  • Debug, maintain, test, and troubleshoot existing code and issues and clearly communicate resolution to key stakeholders.
  • Reverse engineering and debugging of other developer’s code.
  • Create and re-factor SQL scripts and stored procedures.
  • Maintain, improve, and provide support and development of existing applications, including reporting systems utilizing SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Assist in the production of ad hoc data queries and reports and in developing or implementing systems to capture or analyze operational and financial data.
  • Provide additional systems and database administration support with strong emphasis on back-office content management and web-based solutions.
  • Supports developing solutions and recommendations for the current business operations.
  • Provide data and business analysis functions using various techniques to help develop actionable insights and recommendations for the current business operations.
  • Efficiently manage, research, and troubleshoot relative incoming incident and service management requests with the ability to prioritize accordingly, escalating requests as appropriate to other members of the IT team in a fast-paced team environment (telephone, email, and tracking systems).
  • Ensure complex customer needs are promptly monitored, addressed, documented, and resolved in a timely and effective manner through to customer satisfaction.
  • Gather relevant information and provide regular updates to manager and teammates regarding progress, risk management, potential business impact, resource management, timing, overruns, etc.
  • Compose supporting technical documentation as it relates to this position.
  • Perform additional assignments and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, (preferred) or
  • Combination of experience and/or related certifications in discipline areas as it relates to this position. (required)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 4 years’ minimum (8 years preferred) of IT industry related experience in an intermediate to advanced software development, .NET, C#, and SQL programming and development services support role delivering products and solutions at an enterprise level. (required)
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Programming best practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Practical experience developing code using VS Code, VS Studio (17+).
  • Possess an intermediate level knowledge ofSQL and of relational database concepts.
  • Experience with web security and the different techniques available for Authentication, Authorization, and web server access control.
  • Solid understanding of web application development processes, from the client UI tier to relational database structures.
  • Have familiarity with web/application servers and web application deployment.
  • Experience with claims-based security, OAuth 2.0, JWT, Active directory, Federation services and SSO.
  • Practical experience with SVN/GIT/TFS as a source control system.
  • Practical experience developing RESTful APIs and Services.
  • Proven experience working with Entity Framework (6+), EF Core and or similar ORMs/Micro ORMs.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to existing infrastructure comprised of a wide variety of languages and back-end data. (required)
  • Experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting related systems and software applications including multi-platform operating systems and third-party applications. (required)
  • Experience providing end user call support, prioritization, and escalation of service needs. (required)
  • Ability to work under pressure and exercise sound professional judgment in analysis of problems to resolve or escalate intermediate to advanced system issues. (required)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks to completion and through to customer satisfaction. (required)
  • Proven organization/planning, customer service and response skills. (required)
  • Flexibility to travel to company offices as needed. (required)
