Job Description

Program Operations Manager for the ORION Space program to lead cross functional teams responsible for the procurement, assembly test and delivery of hardware.

  • Oversees the procurement, manufacturing, test and delivery of end items to the customer
  • Manages program deliveries to cost and schedule
  • Develops recommendations for cost reduction and process improvement opportunities to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness
  • Responsible for and oversees all operations activities and execution of the program
  • Facilitates and directs scheduling activities to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of facilities
  • Leads materials and logistics problem resolution to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations
  • Directs and coordinates sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of resources
  • Identifies issues with cell performance and productivity and develops action plans to maximize performance and productivity
  • Interfaces with customers to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of service
  • Routinely present program status and overview to executives and customers
  • Oversees production operations (shop floor management, workforce management, and flow disruption management), maintenance, plant engineering, manufacturing, test engineering, scheduling and quality personnel
  • Manages and supervises the work of manufacturing production disciplines in the Operations function through a matrix organization
  • Ensures quality of hardware requirements is met upon delivery to the customer
  • Performs professional or management work regularly across multiple manufacturing disciplines
  • Includes activities that cannot be attributed to a defined Operations discipline

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project engineering and or manufacturing cell leadership
    • Lean manufacturing experience
    • Customer experience
    • Microsoft Project Skills
    • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
    • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
