Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing oversight and direct day-to-day management for assigned projects. Interface with clients regarding project status. Ensure project task orders are completed in accordance with contract specification and requirements. Manage profit and loss for assigned projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS;

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

BS degree in a science or engineering discipline, can be substituted with equivalent experience. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing environmental, remediation and D&D projects for government clients, specifically the Department of Defense (DoD) and the US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE).

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven history and demonstrated knowledge effectively managing projects averaging $10M dollars.
  • Excellent project management skills managing safety, cost, schedule, risk, change conditions and contract management.
  • Solid understanding and experience developing budgets, proposals and developing technical work documents.
  • Understanding of quality assurance (QA)/quality control (QC) processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of radiological contamination control (preferred).
  • Knowledgeable in federal regulatory laws, regulations and guidelines including CAA, CERCLA, DOT, NEPA, RCRA, SARA, and TSCA.
  • Strong familiarity with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulatory guidelines.
  • Federal and state regulator interface including USACE.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Highly skilled using computers and all MS Office products.
  • Experience using Primavera 6 (preferred).
  • Excellent management skills and ability to manage and supervise others.
  • Ability to work with time constraints and complete projects on time.
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to apply lessons learned as it relates to project management, quality, safety, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders and organize work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to learn new methods and systems.
  • Ability to communicate and effectively interact with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Windows Office environment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check which includes 7-year employment verification, Department of Motor Vehicles record search, criminal record search, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses as applicable to the position.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screens.
  • Must be available for standby assignments and work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required.
  • Must occasionally be available for extra (OT) hours.

CERTIFICATIONS:

Professional Project Manager (PMP) is preferred

Primavera 3 or 6 fundamental and advanced is preferred

HAZWOPER 40-hour and 8-hours Supervisor

OSHA 30-Hour Safety Training

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or MBA desired.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Create, maintain and generate Excel spreadsheet reports as required and provide to Program Manager as well as customers.
  • Conduct project/safety meetings as required.
  • Review and approve daily, weekly and monthly project status reports; submit to Program Manager as required.
  • Approve procurement of equipment, parts, and supplies as needed.
  • Monitor all project tasks and subcontractor compliance to contractual requirements to meet or exceed project schedule/milestones.
  • Use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
  • Assist with proposal efforts, Requests for Adjustments, Change Order Requests, etc. as needed.
  • Mentor junior project managers.

MENTAL & COGNITIVE DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret data; provide response in a timely and professional manner; able to write routine work orders; able to communicate clearly and succinctly on a basic and technical level.
  • Must be able to document issues and resulting resolutions.
  • Must be able to solve problems.
  • Must possess basic computer skills, basic maintenance and repair aptitude.
  • Ability to solve practical problems; ability to interpret and understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include):

  • Reports to and receives supervision from the Senior VP of Operations and/or Program Manager.

Supervision Exercised:

  • Supervise project personnel and subcontractors.

Interface Required:

  • Interfaces with all staff, project personnel, corporate administrative support staff, customers, vendors and regulatory agencies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to normal office conditions when not in the field. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When in the field, employee may be exposed to environmental hazards, extreme weather conditions, and loud noise.
