Cetera is seeking an experienced Program Director, DEIB to create and guide inclusion, equity and diversity efforts and build scalable and sustainable programs to promote an inclusive, equitable and diverse culture.


The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is comfortable working on multiple concurrent projects and enterprise programs, including ‘building from scratch’. They must demonstrate fierce ownership over the programs they manage while insisting on the highest standards of quality.


Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), this is an individual contributor role within Human Resources and will build trusting partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels. This Program Manager will serve as lead of the internal DEIB Council, made up of leaders and individuals across the organization. Must be highly collaborative and able to influence others, while also being able to work with significant autonomy.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the Annual DEIB Plan and Budget, in partnership with the DEIB Council, aligned to our strategy.
  • Operationalize and execute plans, while incorporating strategies to increase team member engagement, with special attention on how to engage in a distributed/virtual work environment.
  • Develop DEIB objectives, KPIs, metrics dashboard and establish a regular cadence for reporting progress, best practices and lessons learned.
  • Identify diversity best practices and benchmarks and translate metrics, research, and trends to identify opportunities, interventions, and initiatives for improvement.
  • Measure program effectiveness, through quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods, and communicate the impact of solutions to business leaders through visual, written and oral presentations (e.g. dashboards, PPTs, etc.).
  • Collaborate across functional lines both inside and outside of Cetera Financial Group. Some examples include partnering with:
    • DEIB Council and Workstream leads to incorporate diversity goals into actionable and sustainable workforce strategy
    • Advisor Council to ensure connection and cohesiveness of efforts, including those impacting the community
    • Talent Acquisition to source, hire and onboard new hires to create a greater sense of uniqueness and belonging
    • Learning and development team to deliver impactful learning programs that cultivate a culture of respect and inclusive behavior
    • HR Business Partners to build and refine programs, processes and policies with a diversity and inclusion lens
    • Marketing and Communications to align messaging and increase awareness of DEIB efforts with all audiences internally and externally
    • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to build programs and awareness
  • Drive leadership awareness, commitment and accountability for the team member experience and diversity action plans across the enterprise.
  • Scale, organize, promote and moderate company-wide programming and events that educate and create community around diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging across Cetera.
  • Make prudent recommendations for when to build versus buy program solutions and manage vendor relationships, consultants, and contracts as needed.
  • Travel when required, during peak times of program rollouts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities to be Successful in this Role

  • 10+ years, and track record of success, in developing and leading enterprise programs/projects (HR/DEIB programs preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent post-secondary experience
  • Strong program and project management skills, and ability to operationalize and scale programs
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate metrics, research, and trends into strategy and improvement opportunities
  • Has demonstrated comfort and confidence in dealing with ambiguity and leading through lasting cultural change
  • Understanding of what works concerning DEIB and how to incorporate best and latest external practices to deliver solutions that positively impact diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Practical experience in delivering a broad range of DEIB strategies, policies, processes, programs and events
  • Strong sense of EQ and ability to strategically influence and support people out of their comfort zones
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in building and supporting Employee Resource Groups
  • Passion for helping people fulfill their potential and driving organizational change through amplified DEIB initiatives
