Job Description

PROCEPT BioRobotics is a surgical robotics company enabling better patient care by developing transformative solutions in urology. With an initial focus on BPH, the company’s AquaBeam® Robotic System delivering Aquablation therapy, is the first FDA-cleared, automated surgical robot for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Aquablation therapy combines real-time, multi-dimensional imaging, automated robotics, and heat-free waterjet ablation for targeted, controlled, and immediate removal of prostate tissue. Aquablation therapy offers predictable and reproducible outcomes, independent of prostate anatomy, prostate size, or surgeon experience.
SUMMARY
The Production Team Lead leads the manufacturing assemblers by communicating job assignments, training assemblers, providing coaching/feedback, maintaining GMP in the manufacturing area(s), and working with manufacturing engineering to continuously improve devices completely, working at the bench, clean room or on shop floor by performing the following duties.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be required as assigned)

  • Lead assemblers in the manufacturing process
  • Communicate pertinent performance, work schedule, and activities to the work teams
  • Provide coaching and feedback to assemblers related to production output and performance
  • Track production assemblers’ attendance, approve timecards and approve vacation
  • Train assembly staff on GMP and monitors compliance
  • Compute amounts of stock and supplies required for operation, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from the storage area
  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, quality of product, and standards of work
  • Interface with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met
  • Train and assure associates' compliance to Standard Work and Job Instructions
  • Maintain production records
  • Suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
  • Implement new processes related to process improvement, compliance, and team engagement
  • Report all accidents, injuries, and near misses to the production manager, assures all documentation is completed, and tracks countermeasures
  • Assure proper PPE is used per plant requirements
  • Perform many assembly-type functions, using hand and power tools
  • Assemble components into a completed product by following GMP
  • Assemble parts by using small instruments and microscopic devices
  • Maintain trained status for, and comply with, all relevant aspects of the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality Management System to ensure product and support regulatory compliance
  • Understand and adhere to the PROCEPT BioRobotics Quality and EHS policies

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Certifications)

  • 2+ years of experience leading a team of employees in a fast-paced manufacturing operation
  • 4+ years production assembly experience in a medical device company
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of experience and training

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the Production Manager in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the manufacturing process. May assist in interviewing) assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • The employee is occasionally required to attend animal or cadaver labs and to manipulate models and/or organs for testing

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee will constantly be exposed to engineering labs, a machine shop, and manufacturing clean rooms. The environment is subject to moderate noise from machinery (IE machine shop equipment, the PROCEPT Aquablation unit, computer equipment, printers, etc.), for which proper hearing protection may be assigned and worn.

  • The employee may be exposed to hazards including electrical sparking, water, and chemicals, for which proper protective equipment will be assigned and worn.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly working in a warehouse environment.
