To learn more about ABX, visit https://www.abxpackaging.com/.Responsibilities: The production manager will oversee the safe operation of the Printing/Lamination Department including safety, quality, productivity, and waste minimization while meeting or exceeding internal and external customer expectations.

  • Enforce department and safety goals are achieved through active leadership in safety audits and enforcement, tool box talks, corrections actions, procedural and culture changes. Utilize shift supervision, Safety Teams, Safety Specialists to monitor and continually improve safety behaviors
  • Meet internal and external customer quality expectations by maintaining quality standards through training, cross training, audits and development of personnel including operation of the process within standard operation conditions. Through the JDE Customer Improvement Opportunity Data Base, determine and approve Root Cause and Corrective Actions to drive and continuously improve department quality
  • Development of direct reports. Train others as deemed necessary to provide tools for future growth and opportunity for advancement. Follow/development training programs in support of department objectives
  • Minimize waste and downtime through training, team building and process improvement.
  • Department staffing. Maintain adequate staffing levels
  • Achieve productivity goals. Develop strategies to achieve run time, waste, efficiency and internal and external customer returns. Measure individuals against the goals and remove roadblocks preventing success. Evaluate production schedules with Scheduling
  • Performance appraisals and salary actions. Provide timely feedback on job performance
  • Coaching and counseling. Demonstrate various methods of working with people to help them resolve personal, productivity or conflicting issues. Help associates to solve problems without solving them for them
  • Monitor and review direct reports. Review and approve all 30 Day Reviews and develop opportunities for improvement as needed
  • Develop and monitor CI programs, 5S, On Time Delivery, Quality and Production Improvement metrics such as waste and SMED.
  • Setting and meeting departmental budgets.
  • Maintain open communication between all levels of the departments of the Milwaukee facility
  • Responsible for Equipment, tools and functional area care and condition
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving Quality and SQF quality systems
Qualifications:
  • Four year degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years manufacturing experience
  • Experience in Print Manufacturing (Flexography preferred)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Familiar with basic computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and JDR
  • Fair and consistent application of policies and procedures
  • Able to re-prioritize quickly
  • Good time management skills
  • Able to deal with stressful situations
  • Able to manage diversity
  • Familiar with governing regulations, OSHA, SQF, EEO, FMLA, etc.
