Requisition Summary

PACCAR seeks an engineer to work in its production compliance team. The Engineer will support production compliance projects. The person will participate and support meetings with government agencies. The ideal candidate will combine their technical knowledge and interest in policy to help PACCAR navigate the challenging regulatory environment.

Engineer with experience with internal combustion engines and engine dynamometer testing will be highly valued

Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Works to deliver on EPA and ARB production engine and vehicle test programs
  • Works to support dynamometer emission test activities
  • Provide project status and progress reports to project team, management and ARB
  • Research and support acquisition of regulatory test article and materials
  • Early documents and test materials preparation
  • Test plan preparation, scheduling and program coordination
  • Make recommendations for continuous project improvements
  • Support regulatory agency discussions and communications
  • Manages and analyzes emission data
  • Prepares regulatory compliance reports and supporting documentations
  • Documents and maintains production compliance documents
  • Keeps abreast of changing EPA and ARB regulatory requirements
  • Collaborates with American and European engineering teams to build team knowledge, assure compliance, creates and maintains traceable documentation
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience with engine systems
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills in engine and after-treatment systems
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office software proficiency desired
  • Fluent in data processing and reporting for regulatory consumption
  • Experience creating technical documentation
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills
  • Ability to distill complex data into concise executive reports
  • Demonstrated curiosity and ability to self-teach
  • Must be self-directed with the ability to manage personal workload and alternate schedules
  • Working knowledge of EPA, ARB regulatory emission requirements, regulations and protocols
  • Experience working with EPA, ARB agencies is a plus
  • Ability to travel, up to 5 weeks a year, both domestic and international
Education

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
