Job Description

The Product Specialist assists with building and executing product marketing plans and tactics to profitably grow responsible product group. Gather, analyze and apply voice of customer using end user market research insights and macro market trends to effectively assist with product portfolio management and new product development

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work with Product Manager in assisting with the development of the annual integrated marketing plans for assigned product category.
  • Assist with the execution of the new product development roadmap to capitalize on key market opportunities.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and distribution of marketing materials.
  • Use data driven information to help develop product strategies and specifications.
  • Assist with the execution of new product development utilizing the stage gate process and procedures.
  • Assist with product rollout / commercialization efforts including forecasting volumes, executing market tests, planning product knowledge sessions and sales and channel training.
  • Develop and implement price strategies and promotions to grow the business in product area.
  • Assist with voice of customer with insights gained through end user and market research for assigned category.
  • Execute thorough competitive product analysis aimed at understanding the strengths and weaknesses of our competitor’s products.
  • Assist with marketing content and collateral creation.
  • Participate in SLOB and Toolbox activities such as PLS working with manufacturing, engineering, sourcing, sales and finance areas.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Required. Degree in Business, Marketing, or comparable discipline preferred.
  • Business experience required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong data analysis skills, with proficiency in Excel
  • Proficiency in other MS Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint

Additional Information

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, within typical manufacturing working conditions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to fumes, heat and dust, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. This manufacturing plant is not air conditioned. The noise level in the work environment is high when exposed to the manufacturing areas. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas. Having to work or come in off-shift may be required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to walk, stand, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to sit. The employee must often lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
